Imagine stepping into a classroom adorned with posters of poetry. You’re invited to read, taste, and savor the words, letting each line roll off your tongue. You stroll around, reading aloud, and for a brief moment, all else fades away. You forget the cold outside, the reason you’re here to learn, the fact you teach business English, and can’t exactly use these poems in class. You’re just here, immersed in the pure pleasure of poetry.
The pictures in this post show my favourite poems on the walls that day. Even better, Šárka Císařová, Veronika Quinn Novotná, Jiřina Dunková, and Marek Hovorka created many lesson plans to help teachers discuss Global English through literature. The examples in the pictures are fully available for download here . They are actually looking for feedback on this material, so if you are interested in trying it, get in touch with Professor Šárka. (send us a message and we’ll send you her email)
